Shelled Corn

Shelled Corn is now available from different vendors. You have to shop around for the best corn on the market for burning in your stoves. There are companies researching and fine-tuning shelled corn production to keep improving it's BTU performance.

As our forests, oil and other energy sources are continually depleted, corn is replenished annually. It is a never-ending energy source, and thus is the new alternative fuel of choice. An average home will burn 85 to 150 bushels of corn during a typical winter. 1 bushel of shelled corn equals approximately 5.0 gallons of LP Gas, 3.4 gallons of fuel oil, 140 kilowatt hours of electricity and 4.75 cubic feet of natural gas. Corn usually costs anywhere from $3 to $5 a bushel depending on the source, and the price remains relatively stable all winter long unlike the other heating methods where prices can and do go sky high during the coldest months!!! Corn is friendly to the environment. It contributes oxygen to the atmosphere while growing, and poses no safety or pollution hazards. Corn is abundant and of universally availability, and you could grow it if you had to.
